NCDA&CS Marketing - Tomatoes

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has included North Carolina in its list of tomato production areas that are not associated with the outbreak of illness caused by Salmonella saintpaul in several states that has been linked to red round and roma/plum tomatoes.

North Carolina will begin harvesting tomatoes around mid-June in eastern North Carolina with the major volume beginning in mid-July in western North Carolina. The FDA has assured consumers that North Carolina tomatoes are not part of the recent contaminated tomato problem.

Farm Fresh North Carolina Tomatoes
are great when sliced up in any dish
but especially when accompanied with other
locally grown North Carolina products.
